About the Artist
Mr. Barnett has been making a full time living with his photography since 1970. Until recently, he did all his photographic work in his extensive black an white and color labs. He now works with digital cameras and sophisticated inkjet printers using archival materials.
Mr. Barnett was born near San Francisco and has lived in Vermont and Germany and now resides in Maine. He has pursued his quest for unique images from a number of European countries, the United Kingdom, the Fiji Islands, Australia and New Zealand. He has also worked in all fifty states in this country.
In the early 1970’s, Mr. Barnett developed a line of framed lithographs of his photography and sold these to many major department stores, the Hallmark chain stores and a number of other fine gift shops.
Mr. Barnett’s work has been published by Studio One, Ideal Books, Modern Bride, Popular Photography, US Camera, Sellers Publishers, B&W Magazine and Focus Magazine.
His photographs have been exhibited in the Oakland Museum, the E.B. Crocker Museum and Art Gallery and the North American Exposition. His work also resides in many private collections.
